Change by Leah H and Bella


This very powerful video created by two grade six girls shows the struggles that many youth face dealing with hurtful words and labels.  They show that through friendship and confidence you can break free from these words and know that you are truly beautiful the way you are.

From ice to Field by Elyssa Nikki and Haylie

This video looks at the similarities between the two sports hockey and soccer.  The theme of change as well as similarity is shown through this video.

The Raspberry Bush by Zia and Anna

The growth of a raspberry bush from seed to bush that produces fruit showcases the theme of Change.  Listen carefully for the sound effects of watering the plant.

Mickey's Transition by Leah S and Lucas

This video shows the theme of Change by showing the classic animation Disney created and how it has changed throughout the years.  The use of black and white to colour as well as use of classic song and sound have really showcased this transition.

The Seasons by Savanna Danielle and Sydney

This video shows the theme of Change thru the four seasons.  I especially like the Montreal Winter scene.  A great use of sound effects and music make the stop motion seem more professional and complete.

Winter Sports Collage











Grade 3 & 4 students were challenged to use a primary or secondary color scheme with a different background color in several different shades and values to create a mosaic like collage of a winter sport.

Symmetrical Nutcrackers

Grade 3 & 4 used symmetry to help us draw nutcrackers after watching a video about artisans in Russia create wooden nutcrackers. Wow what beautiful pieces of art.



Print Making for Valentines Day

Using wooden carving tools students created a stamp to ink using India Ink and made repetitive prints... We then mounted the styrofoam to the prints and created beautiful art to showcase things we love.

Snowmen with Different Views

Grade 3 & 4 were challenged to creat pictures of a snowman pretending they were the lens of a camera.  Some choose to show their snowman zoomed in, zoomed out, from the bottom, from the top.   They turned out beautifully.

Totem Poles

This year students in grade 5 & 6 worked hard to create Totem Poles that told the world about themselves. Students used traditional animal symbols or modern symbols to create totem poles out of paper mâché., paint and other found objects.  Students used the Element of Design such as texture, form,colour principals and line to guide their art work. we were all really proud of their efforts.
